Why does Srinagar erupt in anger everytime a terrorist is convicted? That's d questn on most minds right now. The truth is,the real partisan muslims are the Hurriyat, and not, not Kashmiris. But we, Indians, r digging a grave 4 ourselves in Kashmir by doing exactly what we shouldn't- hang people indiscriminately and thus unwillingly make heroes out of them. This is exactly what the British did to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru n Sukhdev, bcos they thought of them as terrorists, n look what they r 2day 2 us. The latter were just 4 doing what they did, but we've gotta do smthing more tactful with the terrorists that d Hurriyat fights 4. No appeasement, just shrewd game.

The new (not-so-new, actually), Manmohan-Musharraf meet has got nothing new in it. It's the same sad story, smiling at each other in foreign countries, holding a host of talks and conferences and gala events back home for each other, and then disagreeing, disapproving of each other's observations, and putting the common people in danger of more and more terrorist attacks. Not only is it ridiculous, but also irresponsible. I might be sounding quite different 4m the optimist in the first 2 articles, but that's what every critic probably had to say or express on the news; smthing like, the u.s and saddam trying to negotiate. The oldies would smile n say "Not again!"

India, an amalgam of races, religions, cultures, values and traditions, has never quite ceased to create curiosity in the West's 'thinkers'. What places her apart from other new democracies is her resilience and willingness to absorb and learn from foreign concepts, new ideas and innovations. But she has also been mistreated bcos of this particular ability. What she needs is not the no-progress Left, the partisan and outrageous Right, but a force of her own, common people, the working class to come out in the open and bring her back to life and vitality. After the generation of Nehru, Patel and Gandhi who freed her, we are the ones who have to propel her forward in the race to development, peace and excellence. It is our responsibility, not our burden. We, the working class, have to galvanise her masses and restore their confidence in their Indianness, make them true Indians. And we shall do that.

This is a welcome note to all u Indians interested in the blog, not only its name. It is Indian tradition to welcome guests to their homes with open hearts, whoever they might be. So do I welcome you, all of you, even those who are wrinkling their noses at the sight of another so-called 'secularist'. This is precisely why I have created this blog, to communicate to the world what India means to Indians like us. Support me if u can, which u will, with ur comments n contributions.
